Worked most of the day
making the sauna hole ever larger while dodging rain showers and ignoring the
black flies, who grow ever more pesky.
The stump for the white oak that was close by the 90° corner in the wood
walkway is, of course, right where the sauna hole retaining wall needs to
go. Mid-afternoon, was intensely focused
on nibbling away at the roots of that stump with the backhoe when I glimpsed a
flash of yellow above my head… giving me quite a startle. Marty had come down to check on progress, looking
ready for the weather in his rain slicker,
and to invite me to be treated by the Lapidii for dinner at The Magic
Wok in Middlebury. A very good repast
and excellent company!
