Jim and James Ploof arrived first thing this Saturday morning to place  a verge of ¾″ crusher run gravel all along the driveway, this reinforcing the asphalt edges to prevent them from deteriorating. They used their Yanmar mini-excavator to scoop gravel out of the truck and place it where needed.  Then James compacted the gravel with their big vibrating roller.  I had told Jim that one 14 cubic yard dump-truck load should be enough for the job.  He (wisely) got two loads from the Carrara stockpile.  Unfortunately, three loads were needed… and Carrara’s is not open on the weekends this time of year (deer season).
